Each summer River of Joy sponsors a community hunger concert with our partners. Ben, Heatherlyn, Micah and their talented musical crew bring the music and inspiration around local hunger efforts.

2011-  Plans are taking shape for our 2011 concert at Lakefront Park.   We are gearing up for a great evening on August 20 from 7-9 pm.  Bring a bag of groceries for the CAP agency food shelf, a hunger for some good music, and your checkbook to support our partners- Feed My Starving Children or Loaves and Fishes.  We will be partnering with our sister congregation St. Mary Magdalene as well as our friends from Awaken for this or our fourth hunger concert.

2010 – We partnered with local congregations to raise hunger awareness and held the event at Shepherd of the Lake during their Harvest Festival. Thanks to all who donated food for local food shelves!

2009 – Thank you to all who supported our collaborative efforts and brought nearly 600 pounds of food for our local food shelves while contributed funds to feed 35 children for an entire year through Feed My Starving Children. 2008 – We hosted our first community hunger concert at Lakefront Park in Prior Lake in the summer of 2008 to raise awareness of the issues in our local and global community. We collected 750 pounds of food to stock our community food shelves, raised awareness, and lifted up some of our partners who work to fight hunger. Through the generosity of those who gathered we were able to purchase enough rice to feed thousands of children in our global neighborhood. It was truly an amazing evening.
